Lest we forget

Anz day was yesterday and it was a day to remember the people who fought for our way of life during WWI and WWII. Eventough I have no recollection of the war, I am reminded that I should not forget those people who made our lives possible e.g. God, our parents, grandparents, friends, relatives etc. When I recall my 'younger' days till today, I am constantly amazed of how far I have been. Never in my 'younger' days would I believe that I would be working overseas, being independent etc. Least we forget how blessed we are and to give thanks for everyday that we have.

Yesterday is History,
Tomorrow is a Mystery,
Today is a gift,
That's why it's called the Present

As with every entry, photos are a must:

Corica

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay. Have been busy catching up with Sydney (besides the 2 hours time difference).

Started by 2nd day at the Sydney Office. Except for not being to see the Sydney Habour Bridge, the view is fantastic!

Ok as promised, the photos of Corica and the famous apple strudel.

Perth

Hi Hi,

Was in Perth for 3 weeks and decided to tour the place to relive my 'undergrad' days.

(1) Headed up to Freemantle to do abit of sightseeing as well as try the fish & chips. Visited the fleamarket.

I know the sign says don't feed the birds, but how about the children?

(2) Headed to UWA to revisit the places that my friends took me to years ago.

(3) If you travel to UWA, remember to head down to JoJo Cafe along Swan Lake. Beside the Cafe, there are pools of jelly fishes breeding along the shore beside the cafe. A must see!

Catchup

Hi Everyone,

I know I have not been updating my blog (not that anyone reads it... i think). Have been moving around this few months. Just started work last Tuesday before moving off to Perth for training for a couple of weeks. Still can't get over paying rent in Chippendale while being here in Perth.

Just an update on what has been happening this past few weeks.

Feb 05
- stopped work

Mar 05
- Flew to Sydney and stayed with my friend, Jake, in Maroubra. Thanks Jake!
- Had numerous intereviews with employment agencies
- Went hunting for places to stay in Redfern, Chippendale, Maroubra etc.
- Went to the Easter Show in Sydney at Olympic Park, Sydney
- Attended the christian rock concert at Horden Pavillion by 2 christian rock bands, Sonic Flood and Delirious
- Found a place in Chippendale
- Moved to Perth for training
- Travel around Perth
- Applied for my NSW driving licence

Have been away from Singapore for almost a 3 weeks and at somepoint during those 3 weeks have been wondering what the h*** am I doing in Australia. I do know that the quality of life is 'better' in Sydney but between buying groceries (realised that I have to restock my kitchen in my service apartment again after spending 1/2 day restocking my kitchen in Sydney), shopping, cleaning and laundry, there is little time to enjoy the 'better' quality of life in Sydney. I guess it is not the place that your feet are that matter but that you go about achieving that quality of life. Being in a country does not make your quality of life any better if you stick to the same routine.

Just wanted to take this moment to thank God for giving me the opportunity to have a blessed life as I never imagine that I would be where I am during my marble shooting days. Also I am blessed to have good friends and good memories. I may have bad experiences at times but am constantly reminded to stop complaining when others have 'no feet' when we are complaining about 'having no proper shoes for our feet'. Amen.

Ok have to get back to work. Hope to head to Fremantle and visit the sites of Perth over the weekend.

Say a pray, take a chance, make a change....

Cheers
